Andy is one of several current squad members who joined the club from local amateur side Thornhill Trojans. He burst on to the scene in 2006 with some devastating performances for the senior academy and was quickly snapped up as a professional player.  He made 13 first team appearances in 2007, scoring 9 tries, before suffering a shoulder injury which unfortunately ended his season.

'Brevy' joined the Rams in 2005 after some impressive performances with local amateurs Thornhill Trojans.  He has now established himself as a crucial 1st team member, making 26 appearances in 2007 from a possible 27.  Outside of Rugby, Alex fills some of his spare time playing Golf and Snooker.

Luke has spent the last 3 years with Huddersfield Giants Academy but has joined the Rams for 2008 and will be looking to earn himself a regular 1st team place.  He started playing aged 10 with Thornhill Trojans  and has also played at Newsome Panthers and has represented Kirklees Service Area at all levels.

Austin's into his second year with the Rams following an impressive season last year and looks to have pretty much secured his place in the first team.  He started playing at age 14 at Milford and went on to play at Leeds, York, Castleford and Wakefield.  He was twice an Academy Winner with Leeds, a NL2 Grand Final runner-up with York and the following year won promotion from NL2 with York.

Chappy was a major driving force behind the Rams' revival in recent seasons and has been among the top try scorers since re-joining in 2004. Richard began his career with Dewsbury Moor and has enjoyed a previous spell with Dewsbury before making a name for himself at Featherstone, scoring over 100 career tries along the way.  He was unlucky in 2007 suffering a broken arm before the season started and making just one appearance, only to suffer a repeat of the break and miss the rest of the season.  He is looking to come back better than ever in 2008.

T.C. is one of the youngest members of the squad who has impressed in the Senior Academy in 2006 and 2007.  He is now aiming to make an impact in the 1st team in 2008 and earn himself a regular spot.  He stands at 6 feet tall and the full back started playing aged 7 for Shaw Cross, he’s since played at Dewsbury Celtic and the Castleford Tigers Under 18’s and also represented Yorkshire and BARLA Great Britain at Under 18’s.

Liam joined us at the beginning of 2007 from Wakefield Wildcats, playing in the Senior Academy at first but managing to earn a first team spot making 12 appearances in 2007.  He's represented Yorkshire at both rugby league and rugby union and has been Wakefield Service Area Captain.

Kane joined the Rams from Doncaster Lakers where, during 2006, he broke the Lakers try-scoring record with 6 tries in one game. He had a great start to the 2007 season scoring 6 tries from just 8 appearances before suffering a knee injury which kept him on the sidelines for the remainder of the season.  He began playing in his home country of Rarotonga (Cook Islands) aged 7 and turned professional in 2005. He was part of the 2005 Hull KR side that lifted the Northern Rail Cup with victory over Castleford Tigers.

Finn arrived at the club at the beginning of 2006 from Featherstone Rovers after spending time with Wakefield Wildcats. Liam was ever-present at scrum-half for the Rams in 2006, but made the change to hooker in 2007 and made the position his own, appearing in all 27 matches.  Liam represented Ireland in the World Cup Qualifiers during 2007.

Tere is a new addition to the Rams for 2008 and 2009 and he adds enormous stability to the pack. The Cook Islander came to the UK a few years ago and has played for Oldham, Leigh and Castleford before joining the Rams.  He learned his trade with South Sydney, playing 3 first grade games with the Rabbitohs before further stints with Balmain Tigers, Newtown Jets (two spells) and Wests Magpies. An experienced international, Tere has been a regular on the Cooks circuit for five years, representing his country in the 2000 World Cup.

Glynn signed professional papers during 2006 after some superb performances at stand-off for the senior academy side. Ryan can also operate in the centres, which is where he usually featured during his stint with Bradford's Academy. He was named as the Senior Academy player of the year in 2006 but struggled with a niggling knee injury throughout 2007 which hindered his challenge for a 1st team spot.  He's hoping to get past his injury and make a push for a 1st team place in 2008.

Luke joined the Rams in 2006 as part of the Academy squad, he impressed so much that he was promoted to the first team towards the end of the season earned himself a regular spot in 2007, making 21 appearances.  He's only ever played for one other club, which is Thornhill Trojans, where he started playing at age 9.  Since then he has represented Yorkshire Under 13s and was voted Heavy Woollen Player of the Year at Under 16s.

Chris Langley

Langers was a late addition to the Rams for 2008 from local rivals Batley Bulldogs and has been very impressive in his first two games ripping opposing defences to pieces and scoring 4 tries.  He brings a lot of experience to the club having played at Bradford, Huddersfield, Featherstone, York, Batley and Doncaster.  He has also represented GB Students and won NL1 in 2002 with Huddersfield Giants.

Deano is one of several Rams squad members currently in their second spell at the Tetley's Stadium. Local lad Lawford began his career at Dewsbury Moor before being snapped up by Sheffield and then Leeds before returning to Dewsbury with the Rams. He then moved onto Batley and up into Super League with Widnes before joining Halifax.  He made 25 appearance at scrum half for the Rams in 2007.

Dom joined the Rams on loan from Castleford in 2006, putting in some impressive performances at prop and attracting interest from a number of Super League clubs. We managed to keep hold of him in 2007 and he made 23 appearances, he'll surely be a prominent player for us in 2008.

Gary joined the Rams towards the end of 2007 from Wakefield Wildcats Academy.  He impressed enough in our own Academy to earn himself a contract for 2008 and will be looking to break into the 1st team and make himself a regular.  He started playing at Shaw Cross U12's and has since represented Yorkshire, England U19s Students (at age 16) and GB U25s Students (at age 16).

Bryn has been one of the most consistent players since joining the Rams in 2005, he made 20 appearances in 2007, scoring 8 tries.  Bryn began his career with Hunslet Boys Club aged 7 and, before turning professional, represented Great Britain at under 21 and 23 level. During his professional career, Powell has represented Wales on several occasions.

David Rourke
 

The Trindernator joins the Rams for the next two season from Halifax.  He's already made a big impact an the pre-season friendlies and looks set to be a massive part of the pack.  He first played for Harboard United at just 5 years old and went on to play for Manly Seas Eagles, Newtown Jets and North Sydney Bears.  He was a Junior Kiwi in 1998 and 1999, played for NSW Maori Team in 2005 and 2006 and also New Zealand Maori Team in 2006.

Josh joined the Rams in 2007 from Featherstone Rovers, where he was voted Supporters Player of the Year in 2005.  He was very impressive in the first half of the season and was then injured with a broken leg, but he made a speedy recovery and returned towards the end of the season.  He'll no doubt be as instrumental in 2008 as he was in 2007

Jake is the youngest member of the Rams Squad and looks set for a big future in the game.  He signed from local Amateur club Thornhill Trojans Under 18's and after impressing in the Academy he broke into the 1st team for the last couple of matches in 2007 and will be looking to earn himself a regular place this season.
